Hire & Fire: A boost for job creation in Budget 2018 
In what is being seen as a big boost to job creation, the government will allow fixed-term hiring across sectors while committing itself to bear the entire 12% of the employers’ contribution to the provident fund for all new employees.

Job postings on blockchain, cryptocurrency quadruple: Report 
Job postings related to blockchain and cryptocurrency continue to proliferate in India despite regulatory uncertainty, a new report from job portal Indeed said. According to the report, in the six months to November 2017, the number of cryptocurrency and blockchain jobs posted on the Indeed website rose 290%.

Variable pay and flexi-benefits on rise: Report 
According to TeamLease Compensation and Total Rewards Trend Reports, the movement in salary structure is towards an increasing the proportion of the variable pay and the flexi-benefits offered, as part of the Total Rewards strategy in the Industry. The report states that the average variable pay across hierarchies are risen to 10.6 percent of the total combination.

5,000 Aircel staff to hit job street choked with ex-employees of shut telcos 
Aircel's 5,000-odd employees are headed to job market already clogged with former employees of telcos that have either pulled down shutters or are going through merger. Executive search firms, which already have received several resumes from Aircel employees, expect the number to shoot up post Aircel's warning letter to its team members.

India Inc’s avg salary hike to be 9.4% this year: Aon Hewitt survey 
Employees in India are likely to get an average salary hike of just 9.4 per cent this year, same as last year, while key talent are expected to get appraisals of as much as 15.4 per cent as companies increase focus on performance.

IIM Lucknow completes final placements with 454 offers by 143 recruiters 
Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Lucknow has completed final placements for the PGP class of 2016-18 with a total of 454 offers being made by 143 recruiters including 47 new recruiters for a batch of 445 students. The offers included 20% increase in the number of Pre Placement Offers, 30% increase in the number of offers from the Higher Entry Placement Process (HEPP) and 220 offers from the final placements.

IIM Rohtak completes final placements with 139 offers; 75% increase in new recruiters 
IIM Rohtak has completed final placements for its 2016-18 batch, with students bagging 139 offers from 90-plus recruiters. There were over 40 new recruiters on campus, representing a 75% increase over last year.

Bosch India Group plans to hire up to 10,000 people for R&D 
Bosch made headlines with its plans to hire up to 10,000 engineers over the next few years to work on futuristic technologies at its domestic R&D centre. The company will invest between Rs 500 crore and Rs 800 crore in each of the next two years in India to expand local operations, including in R&D to develop products for global market.

Artificial intelligence is changing the way companies hire: Korn Ferry survey 
Nearly two-thirds (64%) of APAC respondents say Artificial Intelligence (AI) has changed the way recruiting is done in their organization, with 76% saying using AI as a sourcing tool generates higher-quality candidates. These are the findings of a global Korn Ferry survey of close to 800 talent acquisition talent professionals.

'Crowdsourced' recruitment gaining momentum: Experts 
Recruitment through the online community, also known as 'crowdsourcing', is slowly gaining momentum in India and is expected to grow by 25 per cent in the next few years, according to industry experts. In India, the growth has been at 15 per cent year-on- year until 2016 and is expected to grow at 25 per cent for the forthcoming years.

LinkedIn Launches 'Scheduler' Feature to Ease Hiring Process 
Professional social network site LinkedIn on Wednesday launched a new tool called "Scheduler" that will help ease the hiring process as well as avoid fallouts. "LinkedIn Scheduler" automates initial interview scheduling directly via InMail. The new tool would help candidates and recruiters save time spent on scheduling a meeting and help recruiters focus their energies on hiring strategically and onboarding the best candidate, the Microsoft-owned company said in a statement.

Raj Raghavan to move from Amazon to IndiGo as Sr VP-HR 
Raj Raghavan, head-HR, APAC, Amazon has put in his papers. Currently serving his notice period, Raghavan is all set to join IndiGo Airlines in April, as senior VP-HR. Raghavan told HRKatha, “I have thoroughly enjoyed my seven years in Amazon and am so glad I had an opportunity to be a part of their amazing journey in the region.”
