Sales domain can create 2.5 mn jobs over next 3 yrs 
Employment transition from farm to non-farm sectors will be spearheaded by sales domain which has the potential to create 2.5 million jobs in the next three years, says staffing firm TeamLease. Job-creation will be largely driven by organised retail sector, accounting for 50 per cent of jobs.

Japan to recruit 2 lakh Indian IT professionals after US makes visa difficult 
Japan, struggling with rapid technological advancement and a need for more IT assistance is opening its doors to Indian IT professionals. Executive Vice President at Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO), Shigeki Maeda, said that the country is looking to bring in around 2 lakh IT professionals and issue Green Cards to them to challenge their manpower deficit.

With increasing incidents of large-scale cyberattacks and governmental cyberespionage, the demand for professionals in the segment has gone up three times in last 12 months, according to a report by an outbound recruitment solution Belong. This trend is likely to grow faster with the rise in use of Internet and e-commerce and customer awareness on cybersecurity.

India job market may expand 20% this financial year 
India’s job market is likely to see 15-20% growth in hiring this financial year (2018-19) on improving business outlook and industry confidence supported by GDP growth, according to estimates by recruitment firms. At least half-a-dozen recruitment and staffing firms, including Kelly Services, Teamlease Services, PeopleStrong, IKYA Human Capital Solutions and Naukri, said they have been getting more hiring mandates than a year earlier.

India To Add 10 Million Travel And Tourism Jobs In A Decade 
India will add around 10 million jobs in the travel and tourism sector by 2028. According to World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC), travel & tourism in 2017 in India supported 41 million jobs and is expected to rise to 43 million in 2018, and a further 53 million in 2028.

Artificial intelligence can lead to more job loss, says Raghuram Rajan 
Former Reserve Bank of India (RBI) governor Raghuram Rajan has said that artificial intelligence (AI) will pose a threat to job creation in the country. Speaking at the Global Digital Summit #Future in Kochi, Rajan said growing automation can lead to substantial job losses in the future.

According to TeamLease Compensation and Total Rewards Trend Reports, the movement in salary structure is towards an increasing the proportion of the variable pay and the flexi-benefits offered, as part of the Total Rewards strategy in the Industry. The report states that the average variable pay across hierarchies are risen to 10.6 percent of the total combination.
