Indian companies most optimistic globally on hiring plans 
Indian companies have remained the most optimistic globally on hiring plans for the fourth consecutive quarter, while China is placed at the bottom within Asia Pacific region, a ManpowerGroup survey showed. Releasing its third-quarter global hiring outlook survey, the leading staffing consultancy said, "Indian employers report bright hiring prospects for the next three months.

24x7 law may boost retail jobs by 50% 
Job creation is set to get a boost with the approval of the Model Shops and Establishment (regulation of employment and condition of services) Bill, which allows shops to remain open 24x7. Kumar Rajagopalan, CEO, Retailers Association of India, said the total number of people employed by the retail industry could go up by 50 per cent to 6 crore by 2020.

McDonald’s may shift some jobs to India in cost-cutting move 
The fast food giant is shedding jobs as part of a $500 million cost reduction spearheaded by Chief Executive Steve Easterbrook. McDonald’s also is moving some functions to India in what could be a larger controversial push toward outsourcing, according to sources familiar with the company’s plans.

Directi to hire 1000 engineers and sales people 
Directi plans to hire 1000 engineers and sales people this year and will accelerate its headcount addition next year, as the technology company gets more ambitious in its growth plans. Directi was started in 1998 by Bhavin Turakhia and his brother when they were teenagers. The company has seven businesses - ranging from online advertising to calling apps and digital meal vouchers and benefits. The company had a little over 1200 employees at the start of the year.

IITs up the ante, plan to blacklist firms that withdrew job offers 
IITs have decided to blacklist about half-a-dozen firms that took part in placements this year but failed to honour their commitment, withdrew their offers and left students in a lurch. Companies like Zimply, healthcare startup Portea and grocery portal PepperTap are some that cancelled their offers

"Some 88% of corporate recruiters who work directly with graduate business schools plan to hire recent MBA graduates in 2016, up 8% from last year and 33% higher than 2010, the lowest point of the Great Recession," GMAC said following a global survey it conducted.
